We've been talking about how we should move him into our plotline, and I just wanted to open it to other ideas. At the moment, we've one where Devon stumbles upon Noir while machine-integrating and somehow gets him back to the Arcadia without realising he's not a machine (somehow Dev isn't really the type to do that, though. XD) -- in which case Noir himself could have gotten curious about the Arcadia and allowed himself to be taken. Or they meet during the raid. Or something.

Vicious, feel free to discuss how you'd prefer to come in. Amanda, he'll likely join the Arcadia so you could very well have a part in his entrance, unless we skip the entrance and he's already established in the Arcadia -- it'll be a bit of a jump from the profile, but not altogether impossible.

Okay, it's taken me five times reading through before I could comprehend the post and Noir's app. Keep in mind, though, that my mind has been melted by christmas shopping and the sheer sweetness-and-light that is my niece.

initial thoughts (including some odd images that pop into my head):

Dev: It followed me home, can I keep it?
Di: . . . oOIsn't that my line?Oo

With Noir's curiosity, it could easily cross paths with Arcadia at the raid.
Or, hey! It could have been attracted by the pure shinyness that is the arcade. They could get a panicked call from Jan in the middle of the meeting.
Jan: There's a large shadowy creature melding with the games. Could one of you come down and help me?


. . .It's going to be spending lots of time in Di's kitchen, isn't it?XD

Did either of you have thoughtson who/whether Noir will have as Mentor/Observer? I imagine Di meets with everyone when they join, show them around and give them the basic ground rules, then figure that out. Di would be willing, but it's up to you, Vicious.

Alright, I have a couple DB statements and a large pile of evidences to update, so that's all you're getting out of me at the moment.

Ohhh yarhhh, I did say only Mentors should apply at the moment. Meh. He -would- need one. -sighs- Theoretically, Noir should come with perfect magical ability -- or at least knowledge thereof, because of the collective racial memory passed on to him. So if we want to twist things somewhat, we could have him at Adept-level already. A bit fishy, and he'll still need a guide (Di's nice enough to offer, yay!) for some time.

I suppose, at Adept level, shielding (normal and defensive), control, and personal power are tested. First is simple -- examiner attacks, examinee (um. haha!) defends. Control - perhaps use some chois-based machines that help with tasks, like the modified stunner, or the keylock thing. Personal power -- I'll say let it be like a performance.

Ah, yeah, I just came up with that because...it's not really very relevant unless we're acting it out, but think it's alright, Amanda? I'm open to more stuff in the test.

Oh yes, Vicious's said he's busy at the moment, so we'll likely see him next year. In the meantime, merry christmas, everyone!

The Dan stumbling upon Noir idea sounds most appealing to me - but mostly coz it has lots of potential for humour. However, it might make more sense to completely skip the 'beginning' episodes, make Noir already a fully integrated member of the community? This way Noir gets in on any story action immediately. The raid, for instance. Sure could use more hands on deck...

Krushikis are cookies!! One of which is enough to blow my diet to hellandgone. But they were Christmas tradition. My grandparents used to make them together, so Grandma stopped after Grandpa died. I missed them, so I begged the recipe.

I am open to all considerations upon the Outlander that is Noir. I know it. . .is something of a. .. . .. .. unique entity and am willing to submit to whatever story items you think would be best. I have read the tale, but shall reread it today to get a grip upon the the story. It is impressive.

You know, this is sounding more and more like X 1999 (anime/manga) to me...they have the main story, two opposing groups, neither is really evil or good. Both have powers. The characters in the groups reveal their past mostly in the omake, or extra chapter/section at the end of the manga/anime. Haha!

Vicious, when you get back, your choices are..
1. Join the upcoming Raid, which means you can get right into the action in our Dance Night thread. You'll have to think about how you got there, etc, in case we need to touch on that in future, though. Character development.
2. Be undiscovered, and "found" some time before the raid. But as a new member, you won't be participating in the raid itself.

The second option is certainly more light. If you think you won't be free any time soon, we'll just go ahead with the Raid.
